Commissions
The breadth of projects I work on is broad and continues to surprise me. I’ve climbed on scaffolding to create murals, rendered homes not yet built, sat in a courtroom sketching witnesses, squeezed 27 dogs onto a single canvas and more. My subject matter has included children, families, business executives, homes, pets, and favorite places. These artworks are perfect gifts for a variety of events from anniversaries to housewarmings. The creative possibilities are endless and I always look forward to new challenges with each unique commission.
The Process
I work closely with every client throughout my process to ensure we’re always on the same page. The first step is often taking hundreds of photos for reference.
Once a client has decided on a setting and pose, I create a pencil sketch drawn to scale of the canvas. After the pencil sketch is approved by a client, I re-draw it onto the canvas prepped with a warm wash of color.
All of my clients in the area are invited to come to my studio to see the painting in progress. If that’s not possible I email at least one painting-in-progress photo before completing the final painting.
