Painting in progress, 9.19.07

You never know what you’re missing until it’s gone! I knew when I packed my art supplies for this trip to Seattle that I would forget something. This is one of those times when I hate being right. The knife is substituting for scissors. The badminton racket is filling in for a tape measure. I’ve also resorting to relocating to the garage to avoid making a mess in my guest’s house and my “easel” is actually 2 pieces of furniture holding up an old board (that required rusty nail removal).
Maybe I would like some cheese with my whine. It’s all well worth it as the scenery here is translating very well onto canvas.
Take a wild guess where I’m going with this one…
Ok, so there is no hiding that this work in progress is strictly for the fun of it, but I challenge you to come up with a story relevant to this website to accompany the finished product. I love great ideas from my readers. I’m thinking of something along the lines of The Nature Conservancy, The Fresh Water Society, or the latest update on the impact climate change is having on wild fisheries, a major worldwide food source.
Sometimes working backwards like this yields surprisingly interesting results.

The little pink and yellow stickies are my ID system helping me account for all 37 of the dogs in this painting! I’ll explain later when it’s finished.
