Ok, so there is no hiding that this work in progress is strictly for the fun of it, but I challenge you to come up with a story relevant to this website to accompany the finished product. I love great ideas from my readers. I’m thinking of something along the lines of The Nature Conservancy, The Fresh Water Society, or the latest update on the impact climate change is having on wild fisheries, a major worldwide food source.
Sometimes working backwards like this yields surprisingly interesting results.

Hey Ashley,
One of my favorite paintings you did was the fish splashing its tail in the water…can’t wait to see how this one turns out!!

Wow! We love your artwork, the lines are so fluid. We can even tell from your works in progress that you must be a practiced hand at drawing and painting. We’re so blogging about you.

How about the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program?

They publish a fantastic free guide to which fish are raised and caught in a sustainable way.

Nedra, that is a great idea! I doubt I would have known about it if you hadn’t brought it my attention.

[…] Thanks to Nedra Weinreich for recommending Seafood Watch as a natural fit for this oil painting (previously posted in an earlier stage). Seafood Watch is “a program of Monterey Bay Aquarium designed to raise consumer awareness about the importance of buying seafood from sustainable sources. [They] recommend which seafood to buy or avoid, helping consumers to become advocates for environmentally friendly seafood.” […]
