You’re running out of excuses to not buy organic

You care about your health, you care about sustainable agriculture (or you at least aspire to), but your fridge only gets to befriend condiments and a box of baking soda. Who has time to shop for groceries, let alone take the extra effort to read labels to ensure that you’re buying organic (even “health food stores” sell the junky stuff)? Your computer likely gets to spend more time with you than your family and best friends combined. So, while your fingers fuse with your keyboard all day, take a few minutes to order your cornucopia of nourishing goodies and have them delivered to your door.

I’ll just list a few companies offering such services, but, with a quick Google search, you might be surprised at numerous options.

  • Boxed Greens based in Arizona, but delivers nationwide (even to Alaska and Hawaii)
  • Door to Door Organics has eight services areas ranging from New York to Colorado
  • Diamond Organics, although exclusively in California, offers next day delivery AND you can buy everything from cotton balls to baby food (who needs to leave the house anyway?)
  • For my Louisvillian readers, I’m pleased to inform you that for an additional fee of $5.95 (waived for first-time orders), ValuMarket lets you shop online and pick up your order from their door. And believe it or not, they too offer organic produce and goods!

This leaves one rather major deterrent standing between many people and chemical/hormone/pesticide free nutrition – cost. Well, I can’t save the world in one day. This is all I’ve got for you. But I will leave you with this thought: your health shouldn’t be subject to your future fluff paycheck. If health isn’t disposable, why wait for your disposable income to pay for it?
